To celebrate Canada Day, we went up to Osoyoos, Canada, where Ian’s grandparents own a lake house. For you Americans out there… the terrain reminds me of New Mexico. We had plenty of fun hangin’ with the fam, cruising in the boat, playing games at an amusement park, and watching fireworks. The only downside was that I had some sort of weird reaction to something and my lip swelled up like a puffer fish. That’s why there are no pics of me! But no worries, I’m all better now! Hope you had a great holiday week as well :)

This is how my summer is going so far! We drove up Mt. Baker to see Nooksack Falls and to walk in the snow for Friday date night… there were people sledding, no joke, on June 15. On the way up we saw a mama bear and her cub. The other day there was a deer outside the mall… something you wouldn’t see in TX! From our apartment, you bike down an alley which turns into this picturesque trail with a breathtaking view of Bellingham Bay (Pacific Ocean). Beautiful weather in the 70’s. If you bike for about 20 minutes you’ll end up in Fairhaven, a fun little town. I can’t believe I live here!

Happy 1 year anniversary to the best husband in the whole world!

We ate our cake a little early, because we didn’t want to transport it all the way from TX to WA. I have to say many, many thanks to my wonderful Aunt Sheila who sealed and kept it in perfect condition for us! It was DELICIOUS! This first year of marriage has been completely blissful, and I truly couldn’t be more blessed.

Atlanta Aquarium

For Spring Break, Ian and I went to my parents house, and hour north of Atlanta. While we were there we visited the Atlanta Aquarium, which is one of the largest in the world. It was so good to see my family and I feel very blessed because I get to go back in a week! Yay! But, I wanted to share with you a few photos from the aquarium, because I was amazed by the marine life there.

The aquarium has a tunnel beneath it’s biggest tank, so you get to see the underside of some really big fish!
Scary!
Whale Shark
Ian has nightmares about these Japanese spider crabs. They can grow to the size of a small car!
Dragon Seahorse
This octopus was so funny! He was hiding behind a rock, and when I pulled out my camera he slowly pulled himself out and made this pose. When I put the camera down, he immediately went into hiding again!
Name that movie! Hint… you can kind of see Nemo swimming by.
Did you know Beluga Whales have belly buttons? Well, they do!
History is written by those who make the wake, not by those who ride on it, nor by those who watch safely from the shore.
Don’t they look plastic?
These frogs are super poisonous. Indians used to rub the tip of an arrow on their skin to infect prey.
And this one is poisonous enough to kill 10 humans.
Sad day.
My sweet mommy and me! Do we look related?
Have a fantastic weekend :)

Spring is Here! (Or at least… almost here!)

Hey! Many of my friends have personal blogs. I always kind of thought to myself… what’s the point? But then… I find myself reading and looking forward to their posts. So I thought I’d join in on the fun, especially because Ian and I are on the countdown until we move to Bellingham, Washington in 77 days. Since we’re leaving the rest of our family and friends here in Texas, I thought it might be fun to have an easy way for you to stay in the loop. I also intend to share my cooking and crafting adventures… as well as a few tips and tricks I learn on here as well! Stay tuned…

How can you not love a kitty like that??? She must have had some pretty exciting adventures last night… And, as for Ian and I… we didn’t intend to match today, I promise! But we looked so cute together I just had to take a picture :)
